Daughter's friend caught on quickly with some help from my daughter.    I tried bottom rigging again out deep for big fish. #6 cricket hook, small split shot, night crawler, and 8lb line....one bite. Got to be some big gill at one of these spots. Finding places I think should hold big fish, deep water and wide slow moving spots. At one point I was casting to 8ft+ and slowly working it back to the bank and got the only bite I had all day, most of my time was spent re-baiting and untangling kids stuff. We haven't caught one eater size since the lake flooded.

Thanks guys for the comments. Gonna try some early morning fishing this weekend. Haven't been off in 3 weeks so all of our recent trips have been in the afternoon heat. Excited about maybe catching a few and not having to sweat to death....
