This time of year.
With the heat an Thermocline. As it is.
Question; Night fishing.
Would you run up the lake. Into the river. Fish at night over-
baited hole for Channel-cats.
Or? Hit the main lake. Deep. White-light. For Whites????
Heads-or-Tails?

Find a ramp or dock that has big mercury lights. anchor or tie up in deep water ( at Pk I need 35 feet) and drop the green light. I use a big 48 inch LED light but the smaller ones may actually work better, as the fish will come closer.

You have to attract minnows. If there are no minnows in 5 minutes, move. Once you get minnows swirling around the light, you'll begin to see schools of fish deep under the light. Most of the striper and sandbass I catch are at 20+ feet. For the most part, they won't be in the light. Sometimes, after things get going really strong you'll see some sand bass pop quickly through the light or see a big largemouth cruise around the edges of the light watching for an unwary bluegill.

Good luck to you. Watch out for fast boats. Keep a spotlight handy to put on them so they know you are there. Be prepared to move quick. Lots for drinking on the lake at night. They probably wont even know they have run over you.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Yes indeed. Seems like Lake Conroe in the Houston area has its share of night time boating accidents caused by alcohol.

"Follow me and I will make thee a fisher of men!" Bust open my nets LORD!!! because, I am a wishing I was a fishing!!
