Is there really that much junk below it to cloud up like that? I guess until recently I haven't had graphs good enough to really see it

No, that's possibly just temperature gradients at ~13 and ~15 feet.
It is not the thermocline you or the fish are probably concerned about.....if that body of water is in Texas and is not affected by a dam release moving water, that area of the lake is too shallow to show it. Our weather has been warm enough for long enough time that the main thermocline has fallen to the 24-35 foot range across Texas. That screen shot is in only 22-23 feet of water.

is it the vine or another flooded lake? might just be a current separation of particulates from the rising then falling levels vs a true thermocline.

Seen this silt-like layer at 15 to 20ft in many of the recently flooded smaller lakes I fish. However, bait fish and the larger fish are reacting to it similarly to a thermocline--bait fish suspending mostly above this layer with the larger fish just below the bait fish.
With the picture above, I'd try to find a brush pile, rocks, or some other cover at 12 ft or a drop of from 8-15ft.

Thermocline in Houston county in Crockett has been well defined at 15 feet the last month

Not the vine David it's Amon Carter! See that's what I was thinking was like a silt line! All my 15+ ft stuff is a ghost town but have caught many fish above that line! Some places it's crazy cloudy like that and some that line is clear but under is a lot less cloudy

you will also start seeing cool blue hints on the gill plates of the black and white bass as the water will get very clear.

Oh I made a post about the Bryozoan things u called them on July 4th! They are everywhere! The water has dropped enough for them to start coming out of the water and separating from the bushes/ dock poles they are attached to! Bass fishing has been TERRIBLE but the sandies and crappie have been of fire! I guess some more stability is what is needed! I didn't understand lakes as much back in 07... How long does it typically take for a lake to settle down from a major rise and back to basically normal pool?

It's silt early it will be low to the bottom and rise as the sun rises and settle as the sun drops at night you won't have any silt
