Y'all have been hearing about the fishing on Lavon, that it has been phenomenal, and it has, white bass wise. I'm still working on a good morning bite spot. Sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't. But the afternoon trips are going haywire. Right about 6 o'clock to 630 they show up at hybrid point. Keep your boat in 10-20 foot of water and just wait, and they will show. Most of the time you can't get your lure 5 feet under the boat in 20 foot of water before they nail it. When they get going really good, it's 2 fish on a single line, every drop.

I've been using a 5/8 ounce slab and chartreuse. 18 inches above the slab I have a Crappie jig called a Thump Buddy glued on a 1/16 ounce jig head. The Thump Buddies have a scent impregnated into the Jig so the fish hold on longer.

Yes. I think they have about 3 ramp areas open now.

What ramps are open ? It`s a long drive from where I am to get there and discover no ramps are open.

(972) 442-3141

Call that number. As soon as you hear somebody's voice on the recording push the number "one". That will give you daily information on lavon and what gates are open and what ramps are open.

Three man limit, 75 white bass within an hour and a half. Probably quicker than that.

Action for us started at 7:30 and was still going at 9 PM or a little after. I turned my green lights on and they stayed under the boat and followed us around. Catching fish two at a time every drop almost. Not a lot of yellows this trip mostly just magnum Sandy's.

Ended up catching a couple really nice Crappie off some brush piles from 15 inches to 17 inches. Cody brought his dad and boss out with him because he had such a blast last time. His dad and boss sat down at about 830 tired of catching fish. We left the fish at about nine or 9:15 PM and they were still biting and still landing doubles. Magic depth was 14 to 18 foot.

In the middle left of the screen in the darker part you can see bigger whiter dots. Those are the white bass. In the lighter blue you can see black dots. Those are the white basses sonar shadow. The actual fish are white dots which I called popcorn. As you can see most of the fish are on the left side of the boat with a small school in the middle of the screen on the right. You can see a couple dozen but not as many as there are on the left.

Above: down imaging of white bass fighting over my lure.

We were still throwing 5/8 ounce chartreuse slabs with a thump buddy Jig, tied 18 inches above it. The jig was a 1/16 ounce. Only lost one lure in the process today! 18 ft of water was the magic number most of the trip. There were a few fish at hybrid point but they were not stacked up like I wanted them.

Catching doubles almost every drop.

We would catch three or four per stop and that would keep us in the same spot for 15 or 20 minutes. I moved off to a roadbed and we picked off 10 or 15 and then they vanished again. Went over to the intake Cove and they were loaded up. We were still catching them at nine or 9:15 PM right under my boat with the green lights on. The fish stayed under the boat and hovered it 10 to 15 foot after dark. The guys got bored of catching them and we called it.

Fat mags this year!

Hit Texoma this morning. Had fun as usual.

I resume AM trips at Texoma starting this Friday.

I will be doing Crappie and Sandies in the later afternoons at Lavon.

Started fishing at 630-645 pm. Fish were right where I left them yesterday. Good boat show and everyone was playing nice and catching fish. Lots of fish. Got a four man limit of Sandies that equals "100" Sandies they got to take home!

Nothing else to say really. Same thing diff day. They should start top water in less than a month.

My Wednesday and Thursday trip pushed to next week. So Wednesday and Thurday are now open. Friday through Sunday I will be at Texoma chasing Striper again.

Was amongst the boats catching good healthy 13 to 15" sandies next to Carey. Lavon is game on! All the sandies you want. TarponFly boat was catching nonstop. It's a good time to book trips with him if you like fast and furious catching!.

Thanks for a great trip last night. I definitely learned a lot. I especially learned what it was like to clean 100 fish.
