https://www.reelcastcharters.comFirst off , big thanks to Mike Roy of reel cast charters for 2 great nights on the water. My quest for a 20 lb striper succeed Beyond my expectations. I caught a 16, 18,20,22,24,28 and a 31 lb striper. Also caught bluefish upto 10 lbs,a couple small sharks and several smaller stripers ( 30 inches is small up there) We fished live bunker till dark then switched to live eels. I could not have been more pleased with the trip. Mike is a super nice guy and works hard to put you on the fish. Mo

can you say HUUUUGEEE. Great looking fish. Congrats for a successful trip I believe that the size limit on the EAST COAST is 33" ( at least it was when I lived there )Just imagine what our fishery would be like if we had a limit like that. Charlie

Captain mike has put many many clients on 40 lb plus fish. There are 50 -60 lb fish swimming in those waters. When this is the size of the bait fish , the stripers have to get big. Mo

Believe it or not there used to be Stripers swimming off the TX Gulf coast and in the bays. I hear they still catch an occasional striper in Galveston Bay or Matagorda.

I think the Gulf race of stripers is only found today in a few rivers in Florida, Any stripers on the Texas coast have come down river from one of the stocked lakes. I know they catch stripers at Venice , La , those are not gulf race fish , they are escapees that came down the Mississippi river. good luck MO
