 hwy 16 on pk question?

My 5yr old wants to get on yak and play monday. Is the water still flowing to fast there? I would hate to drive 2hrs for nothing. Thank you in advance,danny

It's at 258 cfs, I would say a little high for a 5 year old if paddling upstream at any point.

I was there yesterday. Still too fast for a 5 yr old. Getting upstream under the bridge requires some serious paddling.

I'm sitting at PK now. here's what I have been observing, they hold water back all week then release some over the weekend. Above average flow is coming in via the brazos (546 vs 61 normal), so the lake rises during the week and goes down on the weekend. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/current/?type=flow08088000 Brazos Rv nr South Bend, TX 07/25 11:30 CDT 6.07 546 61.0 08088610 Brazos Rv nr Graford, TX 07/25 11:00 CDT 66.29 260 170 I think 260 might be too low to get to Rochelles in a day. It would be good to call them and see. No fun being on the river after dark unprepared.

Thanks guys. She just wanted to play by under the bridge and paddle some. She just loves the river and hates lakes for some reason  thanks again. Might just go see monday, nothing else to do. She loves horseshoe bend. But dont know how it is there neither.
