My back has been bothering me for years. Is there something available like a lift assist for a 80-100 lb thrust TM?

There is a new aftermarket lift assist mechanism that you can purchase for motor guide trolling motors. It's called the Equalizer. It really works well and I was impressed with the difference the product made.

James is correct, I have a Motorguide 109 and installed the Equalizer on mine after talking to several guys that had one. It is worth it.

I put the equalizer on my motorguide before I sold that boat and it made a significant difference. Not as good as my new fortrex but still worth the money.

The Equalizer is only designed for a Motorguide TM equipped with a Gator Mount. We used one on our old duck rig and it provided a lot of support.

On my bass boat I use the new Minn Kota Ulterra. This TM is equipped with automatic deploy and stow. It is an investment but I can tell you that if you have difficulty lifting up on the TM all day, it is a game changer.

I am a paraplegic angler that has had four rotator cuff surgeries, my fishing was often limited by how I felt dealing with the trolling motor. The Ulterra has made that a non-factor.

I have a power gator mount that I hasn't been used for several years. I will sell it if interested.

My Fortex has the hydraulic lift assist not as nice as the auto deploy but it helps!
