So your out on the lake looking for the fish and you roll up on 3-4 boats loosely in an acre area. Do you stop and join in and if so, what is the etiquette? Obviously I don't want to roll in and knock boats and throw wake, but how is this handled? Or do you just pass on and find them yourself?

If you join in should be a 150 yard minimum trolling motor only zone all the way around them.

I don't mind people moving in as long as they don't screw up the fishing.
look first and understand what's going on with the fish. Then use trolling motor to move in but not so close that it interferes with the others fishing. Use you trolling motor when yo leave also.

I'm constantly amazed at how many people act like jack asses just to catch a fish.

Also depends on the type of fishing. If I am slabbing, I will invite people in as close as they can...usually 8-10 feet. Not all people are the same though and your responses may vary. Throwing slabs or such for topwater action, outside a normal casting ring.

Courtesy is the word for that situation. I all goes back to treat people the way you would want to be treated.

Depends on stabbing vs casting. If casting, give plenty of room, something close to 100 yards. If slabbing, close as a few feet with trolling motor.

If you are at Cedar Creek it dose not matter just what 5 minute and a ski boat or jet ski will buzz by wide open. Then hang on for the wave action and for some resone the fish start biting. Weekend fishing at its best. Lol

Since I sold my bass boat and got a pontoon I haven't been able to join the boat shows because I don't have a trolling motor. I pass them up because I don't want to disturb their fish and upset anyone. Especially anyone on a guide boat who is paying. The only exception is one day I was able to drift in on Texoma. I idled around and shut off my engine up current about 150-200 yds and drifted in. One of the guides said,"hey, you went through a lot of trouble just to fish here didn't you?" As if he didn't appreciate my effort not to run my big motor near them. I responded, "Just trying to be courteous....._ss".

Most will appreciate you showing a little courtesy and effort to do the right thing. But you will get cussed eventually. All you can do is your best.

RC Fisherman said it right. It's amazing how people act out there sometimes.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!
