Is the bass on the right in this pic a spotted bass?

Spot is on the left. Look at the straight rows below the lateral line where the largemouth has them broken up. Spots in your right hand, left in photo

But I will warn you. You can post a picture on here and guys can post all kinds or references on how to id them, but I've never seen one of these posts draw an agreement. You will hear both answers, no matter what

Click on Guadalupe Bass. Compare with the fish in your left hand.

Left in the pic is a largemouth, and right in the pic is a spotted bass. Guadalupe bass are similar to but different than spotted bass - they are a different species. I'm not sure where you caught your fish, but Guadalupe bass are located in certain Texas rivers and creeks. The difference between the Guadalupe and Spotted Bass is that the coloring of a Guadalupe extends much lower on its body than a Spotted Bass. Hope this helps and nice catches!

Both are largemouth unless the one in his right hand is a hybrid between largemouth and spot. It is definitely not a true spot. You can tell the mouth looks to big and just doesn't look like a true spot

Both are largemouth, one just has better color than the other.
