My wife and I had a great offshore trip with Skeet Warren in Guanacaste, Flamingo, Costa Rica in the later part of June. We fished on his 42' Bertram called the Bushwacker. Skeet and his crew seem to always be on their A-game from reading reviews and fishing reports. I highly recommend fishing with him if you're traveling in the region. We caught four sailfish and an estimated 375 Lb. marlin on 30 Lb. line. Here's a short video from our day. Not sure how to embed the video.. https://youtu.be/aeJSGgR3UTg

that's awesome! we just got back from Quepos fishing first week of July. I caught same number of Sailfish, but no Marlin. They caught a 300 pounder a couple days after I left. Evidently this is the slow season for Costa Rica and Marlin don't happen every day, so congrats!
did you get a feel from the captain how many sailfish they expect a day and how often they get into Marlin? how did you like Flamingo?

Rob, Congrats on your successful trip! It seems like his average day the past month is around 4 sailfish and great day is around 6. They've been catching marlin as well. Actually a few days ago they had a Grand Slam, striped marlin, blue marlin and 4 sailfish. Look him up on facebook under bushwacker sportfishing. He's really good about posting updates after every trip. A couple weeks ago they caught 4 marlin in one day.
We actually stayed in Papagayo at an all inclusive resort that we found through bookit.com. Rented a car for a day and drove down to Flamingo early in the morning, it was about an hour drive.
