do you guys replace bait after losing one claw or continuing fishing the craw minus a claw? ive been replacing them after getting a claw ripped off but im now thinking it might not even matter.

I have a buddy that will out fish me with a jig that has only 3-4 strands of the skirt left, so I'd say that it doesn't matter, but it does in fact matter if you aren't confident. I really think that the fish don't care, if they're hungry, they'll eat it.

If I am flipping and miss a fish and a claw comes off I will pitch right back in with only one claw. Any other time I will replace the bait.

I have heard of people using live Crayfish and clipping of the claws and catching more fish. They like a easy meal with less fight the better.

We call it fishing "Old Stubby". When they bite a leg, tail or arm off you just keep fishing it until it is completely tore up. Caught lots of big fish on old stubby.

I replace mine ASAP. It will twist up the line of it is unbalanced, and also loses some of its action. But that's just me. I'd rather replace the plastic than respool fluorocarbon.

I replace mine. I read on here a few years back that when tank testing more bass ate artificial craw baits missing a craw.i believe it was powerbait but I'm not sure and can't find it since it's such an old post.

It sort of depends on the bait, but if it starts rolling and twisting my line I change it out.

I'm stubborn and I continue fishing. Although, I do feel like I get bit less which is usually when I switch to a new one. It's a confidence thing...

Yeah Berkley did a study and found that more bass would hit a craw bait that was missing a claw, but I still replace mine immediately if they lose one. It just doesn't look right to me

Fish on with it. I've just recently started using a worm until it literally won't stay on the hook and have the same results. Crawfish do lose claws from time to time so it's natural

usually throw it right back in there and catch 'em on the next cast then replace. 9 times out of 10 when it happens to me its a spot. i am convinced they try to pick the pinchers off before they eat it.
