I'm finally going to man up and go wade fishing. Does anyone have any wade fishing spots accessible by shore they would recommend. If you do have a spots could you give me the run down of the under water structure and which fish hold there and what your throwing.

I tried here once, 26.570372, -97.428987 back when I lived in Harlingen in '03. No luck and it was real soft and smelly mud. So I tried SPI instead, 26.148251, -97.182759, there I was using a 1/4oz silver spoon along the channel during sunset and left with a 33" red. Prior to that I lost a nice red by it snapping my line, while my buddy caught a flounder and a speck. Since then, that area has been developed a little bit more but the outer channel and sand flat still looks the same.

Thanks for the coordinates to the fingers. How do get there? should I just walk from the beach around the channel to the front?

You can either wade through the grass flats or cross the shallow channels. Just be sure to do the stingray shuffle while out there. Perhaps we'll bump heads... I'm headed there this weekend

Can you borrow a kayak from someone or rent one. Even that would give you a couple more options. There are some sand grass potholes and spoils within 2 miles of the harbor that you could then wade.

Yeah just getting south to the first spoil islands would get you in a much better place.

Kayaking at port mans is no fun with that wind. Is north of the old pier on the north side of town soft mud too? I may have to stick to SPI but its been really slow over there.

Im from there specks at the public beach area can very productive as well as several species of shark. Use gulp shrimp on a cork or live shrimp. Basically when you get to port mans take first right follow it around past marina then head back south. Cant miss it.
