I fish crappie most of the time but any tips bass fishing , in particular theis alke, would be welcomed. Any ideas of depth, drop offs brushpile shalllow areas to avoid. Just general stuff. I guiy said there arer supposed to be great carp here too. Any input welcomed and appreciated.

Its a private lake with gated community. Probably not going to be a lot of info on it.

I have a buddy with a house there. He fishes all the time but he doesnt have a tff profile. I fished it a lot around 4 yeara ago. Won a little put together fun tournament with over 20lbs. Im guessing its full since it usually was anyway, if so just beat the banks with soft plastics. Jigs and t-rigs work well too around docks if the grass isnt so bad. They used to school off of points this time of the year in the mornings and before dark. Never had a great topwater bite but frogs around grass and buzzbaits/poppers around dock amd retaining wall. Caught a few on squarebills as well but that was more in the spring/fall. Dont really remember any brush piles but there used to be a few stick ups here and there around a few islands/points. Carolina rig lizard worked real well around that.

As far as running the lake, just use common sense, nothing really to watch for tree wise. Few shallow areas in the back but like i said, just use common sense.

Hope this helps! Ill actually be down there in the next few weeks to fish. Thats the plan anyway

I have a place out at Calendar Lake; here is the scoop

1.) gated community, private lake
2.) used to be a GREAT lake but was fished out several years ago
3.) trying to make a come back and they kill off all the grass, chocking the boat docks
4.) fished out there during the 4th of July weekend, because there are not too many boats on it. Caught some nice bass up to 4 pounds but not a lot of numbers for 2 days
5.) pretty safe for boats, points get shallow. A few stumps back up in the coves
6.) there are some nice drop offs and holes near the boat docks.
7.) fish the overflow near the boat ramp and fish the far upper end of the lake

If I remember correctly it is 15-20ft deep max by the dam Fished out there a couple times years ago and caught some off docks and a few brush piles I found within casting distance of some of the docks. Congratulations on the purchase and good luck!
