The boys of www.BigCrappie.com & www.DallasFishingCharters.com headed to POC last week for a little change of pace. It was the best trip we've ever had on Reds, ever. It was one of those trips that your afraid to even brag about because you know people arent going to believe what you tell them. So here goes, I'll try to keep it short and simple with a few pics.
We boated nearly 30 big reds the first evening between 7-9pm. Second evening we boated over 40 reds starting at 4pm and fishing till 9pm. We caught fresh menhaden with a cast net and fished them in 10-15ft of water near the jetty. For the fanale we boated a beautiful tarpon at dusk just to top off the best trip ever.
Secret to our success was lots of luck, birds working bait, & a bit of experience in reading side image technology. As the fish came by we would spot them on the side image and cast to them hooking up almost instantly. We had lots of quadruples hookups, lots of triples, and who knows how many doubles. We used Penn spinning gear with 65lb braid on the reds and the tarpon was caught on a Penn light spinning reel with 20lb braid.

We also caught a nice shark, some trout and a few other criminals.
