next year I'm going to buy a new Z 117. My dealer gave me the option list so i would like to know from Ranger owners witch options are really useful.I can not afford a full option boat so I want to find out what options are really worth while to order. Thanks for your help.

The charger plug that goes in the rear splashwell is a must. Lets you charge your batteries without even opening the rear compartment. If it is an option then the outside oil fill, depending on which engine you buy. If your going to fish tournaments then the oxigenator would be a must have. Bigger graphs if you can afford them. Some kind of engine readout, such as Mercury Smartcraft, or if the graphs allow it, hook them up to it. Thats about all I can think of that may not be standard. Rangers come pretty well equipped from the factory. If you can possibly swing it go up to the Z118. It will hold 8 ft. rods and will be a better fishing platform by a long shot and will perform a whole lot better. Get the 31 series batteries also. Whatever you decide you will love being a Ranger owner, they are great boats. Buy the longest warranty you can on the motor, cheap insurance. If your not going to keep it inside get a cover from Ranger for it too. And go with max horsepower for the boat rating.

Look for a FLW Rayovac Co-Angler who has won an event. There are 25 of the certificates given away to co angler winners annually. You can purchase the Z117 certificate for a great price then add the options when ordering.
I won one in 2012 and ordered it with an upgrade from 90 HP to 115 HP plus the added third seat in center and butt seat with power pedestal.
Great little boats.

I don't really like the 3rd seat myself. Mine has the coin box and is a great place to keep wallet, phone, keys, and a few things you need close at hand. If your not getting a dual console that will be the only place to put small objects that is easily available and keep them out of the way and not blow out the boat.

I've been watching these boats for a while because I looked at one at a boat show and was impressed with the room on the front deck. It would fish much larger than it is. I wouldn't worry to much about options cost savings and look for a dealer stocked rig. These 17 footers move really slow and I have seen a few of them with pretty good discounts.

The external plug is nice, but it is always good to open the hatch and let it breath while charging batteries. Batteries put off fumes while charging and can corrode stuff under the hatch if the fumes can not escape.
