This weekend was just special! Decided to run a trip Saturday morning on the lake because the river is just too crowded on Saturday mornings and we were rewarded with a good box of fish. With a couple more days I really feel I can fine tune the pattern and fill the cooler. In the next couple weeks I see Texoma getting into normal summertime striper patterns and catch rates will start to increase. Bait is everywhere and there are plenty of big fish left in the lake!!!!! Lake is clearing nicely and if you are willing to look around I feel you should be able to catch some fish. No reason not to be fishing the lake right now. Just have to adjust to the fish and let them tell you what to use artificial, livebait or trolling. Anyone not willing to change it up to put fish in the boat might be a little to stubborn!!!
Then sunday I had a double in the river below the dam. These guys wanted the river. The morning trip we thumped some big fish with biggest at 16 pounds and had a 3 man limit by 9:00 with a few good catfish mixed in. The afternoon trip did not show up till about 3:00 which did not matter the fish turned on about after 4:00 anyway and the guys put a thumping on them. Had the Lead Guitarist for the Casey Donahew Band and some stage crew members and Fun-N-Suns own Jeff Gilbert! I think Jeff ended up with the biggest fish for the trip but I did not get a weight it was around 10 pounds I think. Here are a few pics from this weekend. Get out there fish because you cannot catch a fish sitting at home watching T.V.!!!!

I didn't know there were any boat ramps open. Where are you launching?

There are several places that have temporary launching places. Only problem is parking. Several places on the Oklahoma side solider has a spot, one spot over at caney, little mineral if you have a pass, Lighthouse did have a place but I have not launched there. buncombe creek was allowing some launching from what I was told. Catfish bay has a place but not sure how many can park and if you have a big boat you may or may not can get under the bridges. Alberta creek was launching in the last couple floods I would assume they still have a place.
