Fishing this morning I tried the D-bomb instead of my normal SK rodent. I lost several fish that I believed to have stuck pretty hard( same hook set or harder that I use with the rodent). It got too hot by the time I decided to switch to the rodent and headed home. Anyone else have troubles with this or did I just have some rotten luck?

Sometimes fish sometimes scales. Just stay after then and go back to your confidence bait. Sounds like a hook matched to bait problem. Were you using a screw lock hook to hold the bait on?

I don't think the lure you were throwing makes any difference at all. Both creature baits are good ones. I think you just had an off day.

Snelled straight shank hook, 3/8 weight and a bobber stop.

Had a customer trying to use them in Mexico. We were putting fish in both boats right and left. He was missing lots of fish on the hook set and had fish pull off when they made the run. Once he changed to the heavy line wide gap he didn't miss any more the rest of the day. I bought some to try but after that they are just in the box.

Get some Trokars and find out if it's the hooks for sure.

I think you just had a bad day. The D-bomb is actually much softer than the Rodent and not close to the thickness. If anything you would have a better hookset with the Dbomb honestly. I use both depending on type of water I'm fishing....both are great baits.
I would just chalk it up to the day and keep fishing!!!

Just bad day, they weren't eating it good... try pitching a jig, hook up ratio is better imo
