Need some help.I have a 597 ci hd di w/ internal GPS. This morning , about 10 minutes after getting on the water I lost all GPS communications. No speed or lake maps available. There is a diag screen that tells me that the GPS is not communicated. I bought the unit just over 3 years ago with zero issues , and now all of the sudden this happens.
Any thoughts guys?

Your only quick fix that may work is Restore Defaults.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3,
Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1

I thought about that , but i really dont want to lose my settings if its not going to work for sure. Thanks for the input

Wayne is right i went through the same thing with my 597....i have a 798 to so i was still able to see and navigate but didn't want to have to move. it (the 798) up front. i cleaned the connection pins and put some corrosion x on them. make sure none of your pins are bent. also don't you have an sd card slot? you can save everything. wayne knows his stuff! i have spoke with him many times on locking down my birds!
