i have a HDS 12 mounted at the console. Great unit.
I want to mount a new HDS 12 at the bow.. My installation guy said I can Ethernet them together to share information and my front unit will provide DI and SI.
I spoke to a knowledgeable salesman at BPS today and he said that I could not SI from the bow with a TM mount.
Which is true?
Is there anyway to do this, i.e. Have SI and DI from the bow.
Any suggestions for an optimal setup?.

Thank you for your input..

You will not get SI or DI on a Lowrance, those are Humminbird items.

You can get SS and DS from where ever you mount a LSS transducer. That can be on the trolling motor if you want.
Of course the motor would have to be deployed to get any function.
You can display SS and DS on both no matter where the transducer is mounted.

For optimal setup I prefer to have an lss ducer on the tmotor as well as a 2d sonar ducer. Also an lss ducer on the jack plate and an in hull 2d ducer. I have each looking at it's own stuff and sharing wpts via Ethernet.

Structure Scan is not real good on a trolling motor. As much as you turn the trolling motor the SS won't keep up. But I wouldn't take for my DS on my trolling motor.

It is common enough to have a mount to do it easily.
LSS and trolling motor puck:

In addition, you could mount an HDI ( 2D and downs an ) on the trolling motor and share them via Ethernet. It's cheaper option and smaller transducer minus the sidescan on the bow.
