I have also found out that if more than one boat is knocking in a close proximity to the other the fish stay scattered. On Hubbard if one boat is knocking and we are fishing really close together we may take turns knocking on the boat because it wears your arm out.

I can build you one for around $100. Parts aren't that much, if you want to DIY. http://www.4shared.com/video/8Mq0x2ruce/thumper_vids_010.html

Is there a certain cadence? Do you need to constantly thump or a couple of times a minute?? This is so crazy. I'm going to have to try it.

I use a cane. People ask all the time if it works, I have to say it does. My cadence follows Led Zep songs...."Kashmir" works best!

I thump. I thump my sound system and the Hybrid go nuts. Their favorite song is Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass of course.

I gotta say, I was pretty skeptical about this(still am).

Then today out on our kayaks, with no fish around, I started knocking on my hull and a small school (maybe a few fish) started feeding on the surface right between my wife and I.

It was gone in an instant, the wind kept us from staying over the fish, and we didn't catch any. But it would be a strange coincidence, that being the only surface activity we saw all day.

I told my wife that I needed to install some speakers and a stereo in my kayak now so she can catch more fish. She told me to keep knocking. bang

We'll see.

Get a softball and an old broom handle. Drill a hole in the softball and glue or epoxy the stick inside the hole. Works great and absolutely no marks or damage to the floor.
