I use them with success in summer at the wells in Aransas and Corpus Christi Bays. I use 3/4 oz. heads with 4 to 6 inch tails in pumpkinseed/chart, Strawberry/white tail, and bone with chart or red tail.

Normally I let them sink to the bottom and hop them rather smartly, two to four feet off the bottom, but right now with the fresh water still in our bays,they are working best right on the bottom and hopping them only about a foot up off the shell pads all around the wells, keeping them in the layer of saltwater down deep. Medium speed and not too erratic a retrieve seems to be best right now. Catching mostly mixed size trout with an occasional flounder, but no reds.
