Was wondering what's the best way to clean and shine the boat and carpet? I usually use a wax/oxidizer cleaner on the hull and just regular dawn soap for the carpet. Really want to make it look good

I never wipe my down after a weekend on the water. Before I go out, I'll give it good cleaning but I have a hard time time getting the old water spots off and with my boat being black it really shows water spots BAD! I was using a mix of vinegar and water and it did ok but still didn't look good. Then one day I mixed vinegar, water, and CLR. Water spots wiped right off and my boat looks like new. I borrowed a carpet machine with a hose attachment and cleaned the carpet. On my other boat, I cleaned it out, took it to a car wash and power sprayed the carpet. Let it sit out in the sun during the day to dry.

Power spray the carpet at the car wash works good. Keep it waxed with a good marine wax. I use Meguiar's number 50 wax/cleaner. I would not recommend the use of vinegar of dish washing soap. Vinegar is a good cleaner but will strip off the wax, plus it is corrosive to steel. Dish washing soap will strip wax. Stick to a good car wash or marine soap or just go the car wash.

Dawn will remove wax. Used it to remove old layers of wax on cars before rewaxing. Use a milder soap for the carpet to protect your waxed paint. Spraying the carpet at a carwash just seemed to always give a problem getting all of the soap out. If I really wanted to clean the carpet, there are several small carpet cleaners out there, I'd invest in one of them. Get a wax system that has several layers if you want it to look tip top and a spray cleaner for removing spots and give it a deeper gloss in between.

Walmart sells Hull cleaner. It's a liquid you just spray on, let sit five minutes and more or less just rinse off. I couldn't believe how well it worked on the fiberglass. Around $10. It even took off rust.
