I have 98 700lx nitro with a 90hp tracker on it..the motor seems to be running fine but it wont get out of the hole.. the prop is a 16 x 22 I am.wondering if I need a different pitch or could it be another problem..the carbs are clean and clear..im not a boat mechanic by any means.. just looking for some opinions.

Your prop is like gears in your truck. You have to prop so you're turning max rated rpms at WFO. I'm guessing you aren't close.

I.just bought the boat..it was supposed to be lake ready but apparently not..I took out once and it never would plane out so I was thinking maybe a.fuel problem but I checked carbs and filter and made.sure everything was getting fuel thru it properly and then it did the same thing today..wanting to go but not pulling out of the hole

If it is a carbureted motor sounds like trash in one.

Check compression on the cylinders.

Should've lake tested but the boat was bought from someone I do business with regularly..the carbs are clean and clear and compression is good on all cylinders.

Too many variables to discuss , motor angle(trimmed in) make sure it getting all the way down, motor height ,the way your loading the boat ( too many Fat boys in the Rear) rear Live well full , Wow ! Just pick a number Check the cheapest culprit first the PROP bushing could be slipping , a 16 prop is a high end Prop, if at WOT your at you. MFG suggested RPM's and aren't noticing Over revving have a professional check your Setup a Bass Pro Mechanic at Bass Pro could do a visual on your setup. At this point we are all like Ray Charles we can't see the Boat, so it's a guessing Game for us. Good Luck and Tight Lines. OLHIPI

He hasn't given us any variables. We don't know the max operating RPM of the motor and we don't know what his RPM is at WOT. All he really said was it won't get up on plane.

what are your:
wot rpm's?
prop to pad?
where did you ever find a 16" prop in a 22" pitch?

what lake are you on, someone on here may be able to come ride with ya and help. without more info all we can do is guess and spend your money and we spend others money like a drunken sailor in a house of ill repute

kinda hard to get WOT when it won't get on plane...
its a older Nitro, not know for good hole shot..could be water logged hull....
I still think with a 90HP and a 16x22 ,some of it is in the prop- (setup)
