 Cedar Creek late afternoon Friday

Gene, Larry, and I fished from 4 to sunset on Genes boat. We launched at Dons Port, a pretty upscale small marina and small ramp. It was my 1st time on CC and what a pretty lake with many pretty home$  CC is all built out? lol. Anyway, Larry (our CC guide) pointed to our 1st spot, the Enchanted blah blah, graph marked good fish, first drop, BAM! a 21" mean ole CC hibbie took my slab for a ride. 1st timers luck?? But those fish moved fast. We went checking at many good humps and spots but only found a few. Then at 7:45 we decided to go back to the first spot where we marked good fish earlier. BAM!!! Fish schooled, top water fun fun fun time. Larry hooked up a mean 23" hibbie and we all caught good CC sandies til dark. Fun day and I really enjoyed Lake CC. Boat traffic was light for a Friday. Water temp 88 degrees. Fish caught at 13 to 23ft depths. Winds 13 mph SSE and about 5mph at the last hour. Fish caught on slabs and tail spinners. We started out first cast with a 5lb hybrid and ended the day with a 7lb hybrid and a bunch of sandbass I between. It was fun guys. Thanks Fastguy for the lake tips.

About 90% slabs casted chartreuse color, never got a hit on my white color. Gene did well on Little George spinner.
Nothing on my sassy shad either.
A perfect trip would be from 6 till dark.

Glad you caught em down here. Nice screen pic! Sorry I wasn't out there with you, but went another direction Friday PM when wife an I took my sister and her husband to Tyler for dinner and a movie - Jurassic World. Plot similar to 1st Jurassic movie but was entertaining.
