Last weekend,we fished Fork on Friday and Hawkins on Saturday. Schools of fish were deep on both. The water was fairly clear. If you use deep water crank baits on inactive bass, do you use a bait that has a wide wobble or a wiggle. I have seen a difference especially in clearer water.

At the depth that I have caught them on deep diving cranks it has not mattered. For me it is about long lining to get down to 25 or 30 feet with heavy enough line to get them out of the deep brush and stumps. Then it is the pause and suspending the the bait around the bait ball to get the bite. A tight or wide wobble has been of little help. They have always loaded up while the bait is suspended and motionless.

Most of the deep diving CBs are a wider wobble, because of the shape and size of the bill. The Luhr Jensen is the exception. As Donald said, I have more luck by making the bait react differently that just a straight retrieve. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have found it to be like other depth cb's. the warmer the more wobble, the colder water temp the tighter does better.
