Very tragic and preventable. Wear your life jackets folks!

Very sad...I saw an older man today(60's)launching behind PK dam with his daughter and I believe grand daughter in a canoe and he did not take or wear a PFD, however the girls had one on.

someone splain to me (after seeing 3 boatloads in less than 30 mins on fork, no jackets on) we have to wear seatbelts or we get a ticket, why do we not have a mandatory life jacket law?

and before you jump me about more gov. intrusion, if you are so stupid as to get on a boat and go with no life jacket then maybe we need to thin the heard anyway?

there has been some talk of changing the PFD laws most states changed to increase the age from say 7 years old to between 12-17. Some are a little crazy like all people must wear one if the boat is less than XX feet. My little bass tracker is 16' 1" and I wear a PFD when running around but when up on the trolling motor fishing I take it of. Its not the most comfortable or easiest to fish with. One day I will get around to buying one of the fancy lightweight ones but they are a bit pricey.

At my local lake on Sunday I saw a pontoon boat with about 10 people on it cruising by at about 25 mph or so. On the very front was a guy sitting on the front edge with his legs dangling off. Eventually, as sad as it is, he very well may thin himself out.....
