Wondering the same thing. I'm in Arlington so a good hour drive for me. Was thinking about going tonight and catching some bait locally , then heading out there for some night fishing . Don't know if I can even get to the dam this late. Never been so I don't know if it's accessible. Probably go anyways and try it

U can night fish there, I think. Latest I stayed was 9:30 pm and there were still plenty of ppl there. If u have a cast net, u can get a lot of shad throughout the day. Drum love the shad. U can use the drum for bait too.

Ended up not going, we were pretty wiped from the lake the other day. Amazing how it can drain you for the following few days. We're probably gonna head out there today and give it a go. Just not real fond on fighting with 50 other people for fish . At least that's the problem i have here close to home at spillways and such. Overcrowded and dont seem to be able to get to the fish first. Night fishing solves that issue. I'll let ya know how it goes today though. We may head down towards Hub and see what we can land in between. I hear there might be some bigguns headed up to Lavon so who knows. Got some Chemdawgs, so maybe drop some in various spots and see if i can land anything. If anyone else is planning on going, welcome to join us.

I'm gonna be after some cats , but I'm bringing the lady with so got some night crawlers too and we will see what we get. Just gonna take her out and relax. Knowing my phone isn't gonna blow up with "are you fishing again?" , really makes me not care what I'm catching hahaha.

Went last weekend to I believe they call in Lavonia park, lots of boats launching and the watercrafts about.
I think we stayed a whole hour or so
Is there a way to get to the south side of the dam?

Lots of sandies. People are throwing out lines with spoons tied, then cut bait about a foot down, and then enough weight to hold the line tight in the current. They're pulling in sandies fast. Occasional carp and little catfish. I went down past the pillars of the train tracks, and I tossed a live sunfish out and hooked a big flatty, he wrapped himself around some shrubbery though and managed to weasel his way off. I called it after that. Was either a flathead or a gar I'm assuming

@smileycntfish I was above the dam.
Looking at google maps skyview drive had the barrier closed.
I will attempt from the west side via cr384.
