Gonna try the other LL this evening. Haven't been out there in years. Plan on launching at lavonia. Any tips for this lake or recent reports?

In the past I've done well out there in the summer flipping isolated timber on main lake points. Not sure what the water level is right now or if any of it will even be visible.

There's a small offshore hump a couple hundred yards off the main lake point by the power plant that can produce. Some rock piles on the main lake point at Tickey Creek park I used to fish a lot. Old railroad track by the pumphouse outside East Fork was always good for a couple.

I haven't been out there since Mike stopped running the CABA Thursday night deals though.

Go straight to the dam and throw senkos and shakey heads! That should get you some fish!

When the lake is full I've had real good success putting in @ the ramp on the west side of 380 and hitting the willow trees along the shore north of the 380 bridge late in the evening......

The lake is still 3ft high, but its dropped almost 9 feet in the last two weeks. They've just been dumping water out of it like crazy. There is very little isolated timber like you're probably used to, because the entire shoreline is still flooded brush. There is a ton of baitfish. More than I have ever seen, which is good news for the future of the lake. As for the bite... It's been really tough. Catching 15-20 bass out there right now sounds like a fishing story to me regardless of their size. If that's true then kudos to those boys, because they've figured out something I haven't. My advice would be to put the trolling motor on high throw swim jigs, squarebills or whatever moving bait you have confidence in. Cover as much water as possible looking for active fish. With all the cover, and all the bait these fish don't have to work very hard right now to find a meal. Wind blown banks and points are good. The dam on any lake is always good, but I actually haven't done very good around the dam since all this fluctuation started. My take is the bite on Lavon probably won't start to pick up again until this fall when the water level stays more consistent and the submerged brush starts thinning out more and more

I personally almost always launch at Collin park. At only 3.5 foot high most all ramps are probably pretty close to being open. It's probably best to call ahead just in case tho
