Hello everyone,

I am planning on going to Fork tomorrow and was wondering if there is any type of pattern right now? I haven't been out there in years and have the chance to go tomorrow for the first time in a good while. Wondering if the thermocline has set in and what depths or types of areas that are holding fish. I've been researching but can't find a ton of stuff as of the bite lately. I know that they had a big tourney out there last weekend so hopefully I can find a couple to hook into.

Usually there are a bunch of guide reviews on here to read, I haven't seen very many so far this year.
To me this summer has been tough. If you haven't been here in a few years the first thing you will notice is all the WATER.
Fork is full, with all the new water the fish are scattered, what are the banks now was beach for the last 3-5 years.
First of all be very careful driving out of the boat lanes, the thousands of stumps are now just below the waterline in many places.
We have been starting out shallow in the morning working the shallow in the shade, and moving out to the primary and secondary points as the suns gets up.
Spinner baits, flukes, and senkos, then going deep with C-rigs, T-rigs,..using big worms and mag flukes.

Thanks, that was my guess on the pattern. I wasn't sure if I should just hit the 20-30ft stuff all day or start shallow. I will most likely be looking for some offshore stuff if i can, otherwise I'm not sure what to look for.

The word I heard is the shallow bite is pretty dead.
Fish deep.

And look for suspended fish.

do any of you know how to count down a lure such as a fluke? is there a certain number system you use? like 1 second = 1 foot or something like that?

Sink rate will vary based on bait, line size, wind, etc. Go up shallow where you know the depth, like 5-10 feet and count it down until it hits bottom. Thats your sink rate to apply at any depth.

You can start in the morning deep, not all the bass go up shallow during the night, most of the time early in the morning I fish from 5-15ft deep usually 10-15 throwing a c rig

Thanks you all. I just want to go out and catch some fish. Not the best fisherman and don't really get to go out in a boat very much so I want to make it count. I have an idea in my mind but that never seems to work out haha.

Shallow bite has been better than average in numbers and size. Wednesday if was tougher shallow but its been good. When I say shallow I mean really shallow and far back in the creeks and pockets.

Throw a yellow magic up shallow early then out off humps and point out in 15-22ft 1oz JC Spice santone jig, will get you some big ones. The deep bite has all been all about timing.

We have been catching them in 17 to 24 ft of water on a Santone piglet 5/16 head and big magnum trick worm pretty good numbers lately.
