Hey look here, I hope they get caught and are given the max punishment. More than likely your stuff is already pawned or sold so you won't see it again. Anyway I have one of the Tom Mann Jr. All Star Carolina rig Houston made rods. I am not a Carolina rigger so if you want it, it is yours. Just send me your address and I will hunt up a tube to ship it to you or if you want I will give it to my SIL who lives in Denton and you and he can meet up somewhere. Probably have a good Shimano reel I can send also.
Johnny That's a really kind gesture machinist. Maybe you'll start something. I have a Houston made 6'6 worm rod in excellent condition, I'll do the same thing, PM me your address and it's yours.

Scumbags. Deserve everything that karma sends their way . . . and karma WILL catch up to them, with compounded interest.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

That sucks. Had the same thing happen to me 2 years ago at Rayburn. I put a very loud alarm on mine afterward. Might not stop them, but their ears are sure going to be ringing!

Really appreciate all the support guys, I am hesitant to put the name of the storage facility here simply because the owner and the place are really 1st class and over the 15+ years I have been there, there were only a few issues like this. Please PM me and I will be happy to respond with the place.
I lock the rod lockers when the boat is parked at the dock or hotel, but when in storage I usually don't. Glad I did or the damage could have extended the rod locker and tackle storage doors and adjacent fiberglass. As it was they ripped the carpet on two of the doors which will now need replacing (carpet not doors).
Really ticks me off every time I think about it, if I ever found the guy(s) who did this I would simply put them in a room with my wife, lord help them after that..you dont mess with her fishing poles!!

Sorry for your loss.. A buddy had 1 of those locrbar deals on his boat and they took a reciprocating saw and cut through the top cap on both sides and took what they wanted. Besides the fiberglass damage it cut a bunch of wires which caused him a lot of problems later on.
I hope they catch the knucklehead that did this, good luck !!

bet they used your own Boat Winch to tie around the bar and pull it off.... i knew someone would post about the winch strap. Does NOT work and it's been tried by a fiberglass repair shop but yet people keep spreading this rumor. Nothing is 100% foolproof but the guy said it was pried out and you can see that in the pics. You can do that or just cut the lock. I will always have the bar as I really like it for travel. However when at a motel or its outside overnight I take all my gear in. Sorry for your lost OP but I just hate when someone post that bet they did it with the winch strap

, previously I had only seen where they took a saw to the fiberglass and just cut around the mounts. Sorry for your loss, hope the sorry SOB's get caught! If they want in they will get in, it will definitely make them work for it/slow theives down, definitley see it being a deterrent for overnight at a motel but maybe not in a storage unit, what a shame...

This is why my last house purchase required space for my boat. I want it here so I can exercise the Castle Law if needed. No matte where ou store it, if they want it, they'll get it. Sorry to hear about this. Thieves suck.

My wife and I would like to thank everyone for their support and to the offers of rods and tackle. We really can't tell you how touched we were in reading your words here. God has blessed Rosina and I with the opportunity to fish and do what we love on one of Texas's finest fishing lakes. We have met many wonderful people and made friends and lasting memories along the way. Insurance will help us get back on the water soon and we can begin to make new memories. You all are a awesome, again thank you for your words of support and encouragement.
