I have a question about how to sync two graphs together! I have a 898c HD SI combo on the dash and am wanting to get a graph up front with sonar and graphing but do not want to buy another avionics chip for up front. Ive heard about connecting graphs together is there anyway I can do that so my front mapping runs of my back one? Thank you

The networking compatible units will exchange and display all information from each other including being able to select transducers EXCEPT the map chip information. You will need to have two.

An additional model series can be linked via Ethernet to share waypoints, the ONIX. That was a result of a recent software update for the ONIX. End of April.

It isn't Navionics and won't help you linking but look at chartselect. You can purchase and download just one map to your own sd card. I think they avg around $10 for a map. If you only fish one or two lakes that would give you a map on the front without the expense of an entire map card.

word of warning, if you have the 98 series DO NOT SELL THEM. the 99 series cost another 6-700.00 to link via ethernet, I am super pissed at bird after upgrading my front unit and now if I want to link them (like I had with the 998/898) it will cost about 650.00 to add all the krap needed. \

seriously thinking about lowrance after this chit. bang

I'm not sure if you got good info there, I've got a 999hd and I've got it linked to a 798hd up front...All I needed was an Ethernet cable and a dongle adapter. The big difference is that the 99 series don't have a dedicated Ethernet cable port, but they still have an Ethernet port, it just requires an adapter: http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-EC-QDE/

Ethernet adaptor (dongle) $29.99 MSRP
Ethernet cable 20' $64.99 MSRP

If you get two of the XX9 series you will need a dongle for each.
If you upgrading from the XX8 series, you already have the Ethernet cable.
Your total additional cost for current models is $59.98 plus tax/shipping MSRP.

If you have a 700 series with your current Ethernet setup, you already have the dongle for those.

Not only that, the current models are a few hundred less than the models they replaced.

1198c SI Combo $2,699.99 MSRP
1199ci HD SI Combo $ 2,299.99 MSRP

FACT not exaggeration.
