I know i want one of these two but not sure which would be better strictly using it for football jigs.

Falcon Cara Amistad http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Falcon_Cara_T7_Micro_Guide_Casting_Rods/descpage-FNM.html

McClelland Heavy Cover Jig http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Falcon_Cara_McClelland_ST_Micro_Casting_Rods/descpage-FCM.html

Which would be better? Thanks!

The Mike McMcelleland is my favorite rod I own. Great rod for a FB jig, but also very versatile.

I use McClelland for football jigs and got second for c-rig. I prefer my amistad for t-rig and heavier cover its much more heavy cover oriented in my opinion.

I use my Amistad for everything from TX Rigs and Frogs to Carolina Rigs and football jigs. It's the most versatile rod I own. Love it!

I've had the McClelland and the Amistad and I'd go with the 7'6 Carolina Cara for the extra beef it it was me.. I have one in the bottom of Hubbard somewhere with an E7 and have missed it everyday since! bang

I have two of the Amistads... Great rods. I use mine for jigs, as well as numerous other techs. They are really versatile and worth every penny. One of them is the Mclleland Cara and one is a Cara ST. The ST has the newer slightly larger micro guides and they both fish very similar. The actions are the same, the smaller guides on one seem to make it cast a little smoother.

I have the McClelland rod (2) and use them for football jig, c-rig, frog rod, and punching setup. My most versatile setup for any of these techniques.

I have the amistad rod also. Don't use as much mainly because it is much stiffer than the McClelland. Only use it for heavier jig rod or fishing really heavy cover with t-rig. It sits in the corner of my storage room more times than it gets out, but I have it in case I need it.

I personally like to use the old falcon lizard dragger there starting to get harder to find.

Is the moderate fast tip good for football jigs? I thought a fast or extra fast would be better?

I see alot of questions about rods. Including myself I often wonder if I'm outfitted correctly. Found this link thought I'd share.

I use my Amistad all the time for football jigs. Also like the Lizard Dragger.
