The quick connect I installed on it was eaten up with corrosion (Like Acid build up). The connector and Talon is only three months old.

Was the quick connect a factory connector or aftermarket?

I'd plan on $200-300 for what you are doing.
Your corrosion may be an electrolysis problem. You should have it checked out because if it is it will just keep happening.

I has to do with wiring. It sounds like you have a 36v trolling motor. If they are not grounded correctly you will have a problem. The guru for this is Jones Trolling Motors. He visits this site sometimes. If you take a good look at how you are wired up then give him a call he may walk you through what is happening and how to fix it.
I've had a similar problem as well as a friend. He diagnosed it over the phone. I think he is in Texarkana.

You can double that minimum. The spark plugs for Optimax are about $25-30 each, not installed. Order a Mercury service manual and do it yourself. You will save you thousands over the years. The manual will tell you step by step. Make sure to get the Mercury manual not any of the other after maket manuals.
