Does anyone have any relative new information on this lake? I haven't heard anything new in months. I'm wondering what is holding things up and when they think dam construction will begin?

I remember when Cooper and Fork were built and the stocking program they used. Where they built all the stock tanks and filled them with all the different species of fish. Then when the lake filled these stock tanks became part of the structure and the fish were naturally released into the lake. What a success that program was. I remember it wasn't long before Cooper was producing DD bass and many people thought it would be the "New Lake Fork". I wonder if this type of stocking program will be used for Bois D'arc?

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

Lake Cooper was scheduled to start when I was a Senior in High School. I am 75 years old now, so I will let you do the math as to when this was and when they actually built the lake. They were interviewing for people to go into the lake area to move the old grave yards that would be covered by the lake. You would have had to go in and stay in a camp until the moves were finished and then stay in quartine for a period of time. Some of my buddies and I were set to do this because the money was very good. It was defunded before the work was to start.
Back in 2004 or 2005 I was on the board of directors for a rural water supply. We were given presentation of plans and a tour of the Bois D'Arc lake site. There were enviormental Activist fighting it back then because some bird nested in that area. If it takes just half as long as it took for Cooper to actually start construction many of us will never see it.

Sorry, the lake that I was referring to was not Bois D'Arc lake but was Lake Ralph Hall. I got them mixed up. My Bad!!! They are in the same neighborhood.

Grandparents sold their land (98 acres) that is planned to be on the edge of the flood plains of the reservoir. Offered it to me but I did not have that money even with a good deal on it. He has Parkinson's and she is legally blind so they needed the money. Still wish I could have bought it. It's one of the closest sections of land that did not have to be bought out due to the new lake. They got about 244k for it. Thats roughly 2500 per acre. New owners plan on building a new housing development on it.
