Wow, glad you were able to get it back. Sucks that it happened to you, that feeling of knowing some dirt bag violated your property is miserable.

Feels like it is only getting worse these days, but it is always nice to hear a story like this with a happy ending.

Glad you will be getting your yak back, i am currently going thru the same thing but instead of a kayak we are waiting for the return of our concrete pig that was swiped right off the front lawn, can't make this stuff up!

To me there is not much lower than a thief. I would've shot them dead had I have seen them doing it. Thats all a thief deserves. Imo

ID tip, go to petsmart and have two of the rivet ready dog tags engraved with the MSO and serial number, put one on a key chain and keep it in your glove box the other bend it and put a screw from one of the hatches through it so it is inside your yak. This helps with insurance as well.

Glad you got your boat back some times the nostalgia is as important as the ride.

Dumb question from a yak newbie but what is an MSO#? This story is quite a wake up call so I want to take the OP's advice.

Its usually a number stamped into the hull of the kayak.

I have a Native Slayer Propel. Guess I need to look for that number in case it gets stolen.

You can get an engraver pretty cheap. I use these to engrave all my tools at work. Take your kayak turn it upside down, open the hatch and engrave your name and/or drivers license # on the under side of the hull on the inside.
