I've caught a few decent fish at Arrowhead park on L'ville while visiting my son in Lewisville. There are a number of launches and some decent walking areas on either side of them. Not too far a drive from Denton.

There are only 4 that come to mind. There was a thread about Denton ponds a while back. I'm not sure if a location was posted though.

I live near South Lakes but I've never fished there. Let me know how it goes.

As far as the north lakes go, the one north of the other has a lot of vegetation. If you can make long casts, you can catch fish with a weedless bait. I fish from the dam. Throw a frog too. The other one is bigger and has bigger (so i hear) but no surface vegetation. It fishes differently for sure. Its like night and day compared to the pond a mile away. I'd walk the dam there too.

Awesome info chickenman. I just checked on tpwd and the north pond closest to 35 was stocked in 2014 with fingerling largemouth. I'm guessing the southern pond has never actually been stocked tpwd reports show no signs of them. Definetly taking your advice and hitting he northern pond!
