I'm with ya on the night fishing, What I would consider is which lake you know best. Getting around at night is a big deal. Having an idea where to go for moving around the lake is a major ordeal for me.

Went to Quitman a few weeks ago, found some fish but the water seemed really dirty, and then the party skier's came out. It was time to go. Did have one fish in the boat and a couple of practice hook set's.

If I was going to night fish one of those I would fish Hawkins. One thing I love about being a Deputy in Wood County is the knowlege of the county lakes and visiting with folks as they come off the water. I personally love night fishing Hawkins. I have caught some big girls at night on senkos.

My favorite of all of those lakes is Winnsboro but don't think it would be for night fishing. Lots of big stumps and might be a little tricky getting around the lake at night. I have fished Holbrook at night and it was pretty decent but if I had to make a choice I would probably go with Deputy T's advice. I always wanted to fish Lake Hawkins but just never made it over there.

I don't night fish anymore, can't see in the daylight, why risk it...LOL
However, in my youth growing up on lake Winnsboro, we night fished all the time. Just hit the first point past the sking area on the right(East) side.. Drop the trolling motor and head North, it should take all night and then some to reach Hwy 515... Gator grass everywhere.. 2cents

Winnsboro is my home lake and I would have picked it 10 out of 10 times until the last couple of years. I fish the working mans out there almost every week and I have only caught 4 or 5 after dark all year. It used to have a killer jig bite after dark, but it has been tough.

I fish the Hawkins tournaments as well and I have caught quite a few there after dark. It would be my top pick as well.

I have never fished Holbrook or Quitman after dark. I would think that Holbrook would be a good lake for night fishing. I will be fishing a night tournament on Quitman next month, so I guess I will find out how it fishes.
