I love to flip the bank....unfortunately i haven't gotten good enough at skipping with my baitcaster. i had gotten to the point where i would motor around overhanging brush and trees. I started thinking i used to skip my spinning reel under the mangroves all the time so i picked up the old spinning reel again. Just saying we all want to be able to skip a baitcaster but if you can't don't overlook over hangs that you can skip with a spinning reel SHOT IN 720p thumb

This reminds me of my favorite style of fishing. Something I learned years ago watching Guido Hibdon do in BASS tournaments back in the day. I finesse fish small soft plastics with a spinning rod/reel combo and 8 pound mono in cover most folks would be using a bait cast flipping rig and braided 40 or 50 pound line. Very productive. The key to making this work is just to keep light steady pressure on the fish until it swims out of the cover. I've caught a lot of fish doing this and I have never had issues with breaking off. The most critical part of this is fresh line. I changed pretty regularly and retied after every fish if I felt of fray in the line at all............

I don't think I've ever seen you that close to the bank! Looks like you got that down pretty well though

I do similar things, but I do it 'from' the bank, and into pockets up and down the bank, and under trees, etc. as a bank fisherman, you have to get good at that, or you miss fishing a lot of areas you may not be able to go to by foot - or get hung up too much. Most bank fishermen I know like a spinning reel for this purpose.

Skipping skills are strong.

What were you throwing? Some sort of fluke?

If so, might suggest you slow it down? Why fishing so fast? Not questioning just wondering.

Me? It's skipped a senko up in there and just let it sit for 30 seconds.

Cool video!

Cooper you're right i was kinda fishing it fast. yes normally i throw a fluke and that you can swim kinda slow....at least i do back and forth. all i had was a shadaliscious swimbait and that thing you kinda gotta move it or it has now action. the swimbait i'm throwing now Fat Impact can be swam slower. thanks for the tip thumb
