Well after fishing hard at Tawakoni for the first half of my vacation with some of the Hubbard and Lavon guys i ended my vaction with one more trip to both Hubbard and Tawakoni. Friday I went back to Tawakoni with Fishboy Frank and Sunday i rounded up the vacation with my co worker Leo nunes on Ray Hubbard

Tawak trip first ::

Frank and I headed out early Friday Morning to Anchor Inn on Tawakoni to try our luck on some big fish. ( or any fish was good enough ) --LOL--.
The weather was perfect and the winds were light so i took my Triton out there and we hit the lake. It was slow and we looked at several places but the fish were moving fast and we could not find a steady school.. We stuck it out and kept on looking but it was pretty slow and by noon we had only two fish so we went in to holiday for ice and ran into Matt and he gave us some direction as to where we might do good. ( Thanks Matt good to see you ). Talked to Lena horse ( Larry ) through out the day and he was having a tuff time as well. ( good to talk to you Larry see ya soon ). Finally about 12:30 we pulled up to sun point and saw Joe Reed and his clients fishing in the area. Sorry Joe i didn't get closer but i was giving you room to work but hope to talk to you next time.

Frank and i started strolling around and we would mark fish and i would see a " BLOB" of fish on the sonar and i stopped and told frank to cast back and " Catch em " --LOL-- he would get one or two every time we did this. We renamed strolling to " Blob Fishing " because everytime we saw a blob of fish on the humminbird he would catch some --LOL--. Every once in a while we could keep em under us for 20 minutes and we would catch em pretty good.

Any way we ended up getting over fifty big sand bass and one 22 inch hybrid and frank caught 4 or 5 under sized striped bass. So we stuck it out and made a good day of it. Frank got some fish for his freezer and i got to fish Tawakoni 4 times in 9 days . What a treat. Thanks Frank for going with me we had a blast. Here are some t-wak pics

Hubbard Yesterday trip:::

My co worker ( who is a black bass fisherman --LOL-- ) has been on me to take him for his first ever sand bass / Hybrid fishing trip so we met at Chandlers and headed out on Ray Hubbard. I have been getting reports that it was hit or miss out there so i was kind of under the gun as to if we could find any Sunday( yesterday ) So Leo and i headed out at 7 am and went looking. There had been rumors of top water at the tip of the jetty but they were no where to be found. So i started scanning along the rock jetty towards the power plant and came up on a big school of fish. -- BAM-- These fish were feeding and we hit the anchor button on the ipilot and we started catching fish. Leo caught his first hybrid there about 17 1/2 inches. He didn't stop there he went ahead and caught 4 more that size and one 18 1/4 inches. He was hysterical with excitement --LOL-- and was having a blast. We sat there for over an hour and the fish stayed with us and we boated over thirty sand bass and , thirteen hybrids being right at 18 inches. We also got some 11 to 12 inch hybrids too and a ton of yellows and some of them were as big as the slabs were using --LOL--. All our fish were caught on Peekwi Chieftain slabs from www.moestackleshop.com . The stocked fish looked good and were real agreesive , Way to go RHSA thumb. But it was pretty Epic because we found some good fish to catch on his first trip out on the lake. And it is safe to say HE IS HOOKED on sand bass and hybrid fishing --LOL-- . Any way glad Leo went with me and it was a good trip to end vacation on. Too bad i can't take the whiole summer off LOL.
Here are pics of the Hubbard trip

I had a blast at Tawakoni Keith! Watching that sunrise was worth the price of admission alone. That was so funny every time we saw a "Blob" of fish on your graph I would throw back in your wake and catch one! Last count I was up to seven straight. Haven't kept fish in awhile and got two nice bags. The freezer was low so that helped the cause. Every time we go we laugh the whole time. That's what it's all about to me. Our jobs are all stressful so fishing is the great equalizer to me! From the smiles on Leo's face he is hooked. Looks like another member of RHSA in the making! Thanks for Friday.

Larry that right there is funny! Plus it's an oxymoron... An honest fisherman! It was tough but we kept plugging away (No pun intended) until we found them. Was fun catching some under stripers and hybrids also. This week is the new moon. Will be fish on this week!

Keith, I was out Saturday morning and thought I saw you around the peanut but wasn't sure. You did good. I only managed 1 LMB. Was mainly playing with my new Bird. Sorry I didn't stop and say Hi.

Thanks Y'all it sure is hard to come back to work --LOL-- cry
Jeff i saw a bunch of boats over by the end of jetty and one looked like yours. But never saw any fish on the hummingbird so i went looking. Also never did see any splashes so i moved on. We caught 3 little ones there but they were roaming i guess. What kind of new hummingbird did you get? Ready to hit Lavon they have finally opened a couple of ramps thumb:
