I'm going camping on Lake Travis next weekend and wanted to throw out a couple jugs. First question, did TPWD change the regulations about the color of the floats? I saw on their website it could be any color but orange, thought it needed to be white. Also, any recommendations on bait up there?
Thanks, Rex

They changed the color restrictions last September. Orange is still commercial.

Will you be using jugs like bleach jugs? If so pick up a bag of pea gravel from walmart and put if it's a small quart then a handful if it's a gallon then about a 8oz styrofoam full. This will cause the jug to flag/stand up in the water if you have a fish or if a bait stealer has give it a pull.

Good info, and yes we are doing this cheap so we will be using laundry detergent jugs. Thanks.

One other question, how much weight are you guys using. We won't be floating these, they will be stationary.
