I have never used on of these before so i dont know much about them i installed one on my boat i cant get the ball to suck gass when i squize it if i by pass it ;ike i did today it runs fine on the copper fittins could i have put smoothen on the threads like plumbers tape or something like that i though i had it wrench tight as it cold go and help with this wold be great

The filter is going to have an in and an out fitting on each side. Make sure you are connected to the appropriate one. If it runs OK without the bulb, those connections are OK. Make sure the bulb isn't reversed. If you are sure the hoses are correctly connected, squeeze the bulb with your finger over the suction side. You should feel it sucking on your finger. You should also feel air blowing out the other side. If you don't, you could have a bad bulb.

no i had to take it of the filter it is sucking air from the filter no i can see air up in the in line filter but it wont pull the fuel from the tank through the filter so i took it off the filter for today so i could take the kids fishing on waco we wold had done better but i missed a lot dealing with my daughter the one kid never fished before he could not set a hook to save a his life

You have a in and out fitting on the same side us them. Put brass plugs in the other side.You should be good to go.
Best to have a spare filter in your boat at all times. When putting on a new filter you will have to mash the bulb for a while to get it to pick up gas.

I mash it for over 40 mins plus turned it over for a bit still nothing i am going to check the filter my be its not tight it is just sucking air and i can see the arrow for the direction it came with 2 studs in it one one each side so you did not make the mistake I have to put a new bilge in it tomorrow i will play with it for a bit till it gets to hot

Is the squeeze bulb between the tank and filter? It needs to push fuel through the filter, not pull it through.

I have always ran the bulb between water filter and motor. You may have a bad bulb.

it not the build it work just fine when i by pass the filter the filter is sucking air i can hear it i put some plumrs tape on all the fittings and tightend the filter with a filter wrinch now it works fine
