Ill be in Key Largo August 11th-19th and I want to make the drive up to Okeechobee sometime during that week to fish it. I'm looking for a good guide and have already sent some emails. Anyone have recommendations? I know august is not the best time to fish and it could be a grind after the sun gets up. But Okeechobee is on my bucket list and who knows when ill be back in that area and have a chance to fish it. I wont have any bass gear so a guide with good gear is a must.

I won't name names on the site but I had a trip on Toho scheduled for yesterday morning at 6:30am and the guide texted me at 4:45 that he had a flat and wouldn't be able to make it. When I setup the time the day before I got the feeling he was trying to talk me out of the trip already, I declined and insisted we were ready to go.

I understand things like flat tires happen but you can't tell me you're an angler that fishes a pro circuit and you don't have the tools to change a flat, especially one on your truck? Cmon man!

If he didn't want to go he should've just said so and we could've still found alternate arrangements. Pretty disappointed.

if I was absolutely certain that he cancelled and wasn't just a product of pure bad luck then I would definitely name him. It just all was way too coincidental in my opinion for it to be bad luck. If you PM me I'll tell u his name but I'm not going to shame him publicly. He did refund my deposit almost immediately after canceling the trip, so there's that.

+1 Wife and I fished with Steve earlier this year and he was excellent. Had a great time and caught good fish.
