several access points on the north end of 2499 by Highland Village/Pilot Knoll park. Lots of flooded wind protected coves looking very LMB friendly. I threw a few and tooled around some but didn't connect.

Did you go through the actual park to launch or is there another, more free, spot in that area?

FlashFrog, I went through the park (season pass), however, about 1/4 mile north from the park gate on 2499 is a parking lot with lake access. I have seen some yaks in there, its about a 50 yd drag to the water. Thats right at Hickory Creek, has a great whitey run in the spring.

My wife live in that area and I have been poking around looking for some fish. Only managed to pick up two tiny white bass so far. We're very new to it all and enjoy the learning.

The water being so high makes the 2499 parking lot a short trip, although it is a bit of a precarious one. I've seen a few kayaks dump up the hill right next to the parking lot (yes, that includes mine).

We had been thinking about going in at the Pilot Knoll park but I didn't think it would be open yet.

Christian says there's catfish in Lake Lewisville but I don't believe it yet. roflmao

Hi Stewage, the park is open and you can park 5 ft from the water to put a kayak in. The boat ramp is closed however. Its 10 clams to get in, or get the annual pass @ 65. Only downside is the gate opens at 7am, a little later than I would like.

I will likely be heading out in this area Sunday morning if anybody feels like tagging along. It's been a couple weeks since I was out last, but the last two trips the channel cats and smaller blues were still stacked up pretty thick in the flooded willows. I think the lake is down 3-4 feet since then though, so who knows.

On a side note, does anybody know if Sycamore Bend Park has re-opened?
