There's a pond on post that has a lot of vegetation and the only thing I can throw is a top water frog without getting snagged. The first one was 9lbs 8oz. The second one was 7lbs 5oz. They have some gnarly teeth and tore up my frog. I had to turn my drag to its maximum just to pull in the fish through all the vegetation. The max drag on the reel is 20lbs. They put up a decent fight at first, then they go limp after realizing they're caught. It's awesome seeing them hit a top water lure. I lost 5 setting the hook too early. I also need to trim the legs on the frogs. Some of the fish missed the frog going after the frog legs. I didn't bring my landing net and had to carefully get it over the pier. Luckily I had my Team Catfish fish grips. I think I can go back to the states now; trout, carp and snakehead caught while in South Korea.

Good job, but now I'll probably have nightmares. Those are creepy fish.

Nice! I'd've loved to do some fishing during my tours there but never had time for anything but training for WWIII. Saturday afternoon & all of Sunday off was a l-o-n-g weekend. Rare, too.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I caught the first bullfrog and another Soldier caught the second one Thursday night and you can imagine we didn't catch any snakehead that night. I'm sure they were chowin' down on these monsters.

On the pier we fish on this sign is posted. Mr. Kim might not be cooking for us tonight.

This guy weighed 7lbs 6oz. Reina and I seem to be making a following out here. More and more Soldiers are coming out to try to catch them. I hear you DCmac, here in a couple of weeks I'll have to put all my fishing on hold. Keep your ear low to the ground; I'm sure North Korea will be getting crazy again soon.
