Whats sounds like a better buy waiting till September 1 for the Helix 7 or getting the 899 right now?

Can someone explain the difference in the two units?

Thanks

Main difference is the Helix series units are stand-alone only, and the 800 series can be linked to another unit to share data and accessories.

The Helix 7 SI GPS would be the equivalent of the 899ci HD SI Combo as far as sonar functions.

$300 MSRP price difference.

The Helix is a standalone unit that can't be linked, so there is no way to connect it to an iPilot motor.
You don't even need a sonar unit for an iPilot motor, it has its own GPS system that does Spot Lock.
