Thought I would see what ya'll thought was the best rod length before I get one from Pro Angler. Will appreciate your opinion.

Depends mostly on how you intend to fish. Vertical jigging, most prefer a longer rod, anywhere from 8 to 10'. Since I drive my own boat, I like a 7' single piece rod...Wally Marshal Sig Series to put in a plug. Spider rigging, much longer. Dock shooting, I started with a 5'er and have migrated to a 6'er but, don't have any docks to shoot anymore up here north of the Red River.

Like OkieBob stated.........vertical jigging trees or brush piles.......8' good.......10' better. Bridges 5' to 7'.......dock shooting.......4 1/2' to 6 1/2'. Pro Angler is a good choice in rods.

Dock shooting 5 1/2' vertical jigging 7 1/2' - medium light action spider rigging 12' under bridges 6' - I like a stiffer rod under the bridges

All good answers and Pro Angler is a good choice. Start with what you will use the most and then expand from there. Personally I like a light fast action. I like to match line weight with the power of my fishing rod.

Thanks for advice. I should have added that I will be vertical jigging so it looks like the 8 ft is it. Thanks

Since you are jigging, I would go with the 10ft rod. I like to stay away from the structure I am fishing. I also like that extra bend I see in my rod Pro Angler are great rods.

If you're on a budget and planning to buy just one rod, I would go with a one piece 7'

If you're on a budget and planning to buy just one rod, I would go with a one piece 7' I have to agree, a 7' covers a lot of different fishing situations. I use it more than any of the others...
