Wife has a nursing conference around the first of October in Orlando. I am going to meet her there and I have a free day to fish while she is in class!!!! Anyone have a good recommendation for a guide in that area? I have done a little internet research but I always appreciate the opinions of folks on here. Thanks in advance!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I took a guided trip on Toho several years ago and rounded a guide up off the internet. There are guide services, which means there is a service that acts as a broker. You really wont know who you will get until you schedule a reservation. Most of these are live bait trips and the real downside to this is when the bait is used, your day is over. It might take 2-3 hours to go through 6 dozen shiners but the fee is the same. I discussed this with my guide as an education to him. I explained that our guides, IE Lake Fork, were each independent operators and for the most part, gave 8 hours on the water and that they received the entire fee plus gratuity. I am sure there are those that do artificial trips, but it is a given that it will increase the hours they work. The live bait guides can schedule at least two trips each day. This is just something for you to think about.

I fished with Captain Rick Butler 407-922-3946 today on Toho. He's been fishing Toho since he could hold a fishing rod. You say you are going in 3-4 weeks which will coincide with the shad spawn and great topwater action at Toho. I fished today from 0800 to 2pm. We caught 11 LMB all on weightless stick baits. The spawn looked to be about 70% done. I highly recommend Captain Butler. He was referred to me by Art Ferguson (another highly recommended guide)

While shiners are different and a lot of fun to fish, I am looking for a guide that fishes artificial since it will just be me. Thanks for the tip Collin County!!

Captain Tony Summers is a good one also. Went with him this spring and he put us on them.
