Hey guys, I'm trying to make a crawdad. Do either of these work? If so which one?

Look at them in the water and you'll have your answer. The feathers are gonna collapse when they get wet. A lot of people use rabbit zonkers for the claws like in the pic below.

I think they look very good, and full feathers like that don't collapse very bad ..... mine are gonna have smaller feathers than that!

Rabbit zonkers look nice too, but makes them a little too big for crappie.

Agree you need some Rabbit! If you get both Zonkers and Crosscut you can make the entire thing with Rabbit and looks awesome!

The better ones I see are foam, thin skin, and rabbit but they are big which in summer some thinks is good. But myself I use plastics when it comes to crawfish.

If it runs true and you like it, its everything a jig can be. Now its just a matter of seeing if it holes up on the fish.

yeah, I digging this one! I tied up 10 of them between last night and today. Finally settled on a pattern and went with it. It has flash for mustache, rubber legs for feelers, mono/bead eyes, rust colored chenille, and pheasant feathers. Looks awesome in the water. It goes fishing tomorrow evening if I can get my work finished in time.
