Tried carping from a dock for the first time last night. Impossible to use banksticks, and rods pods take up too much space, figured out that quick release salty rod holders aren't only for boats smile

Less than I hoped for. My son caught this 20 pounder shortly before I caught mine, it put up a much better fight, mine took one run and then came straight at us and right into the net.

Notice that we're in an old shipping canal, probably less than 40 yds across, so they can only run sideways, or keep diving down as the water 15-20 feet deep where we were fishing. That's what my son's carp did.
