I was looking at taking the flats boat out for some fishing on Thursday. I live near Ennis, so I wasn't interested in a long haul. Would anyone be willing to give their findings of Ray Roberts Carp since the plethora of spring rains? Anyone have any opinions on some good fishing waters around the Metroplex for any species, not just carp? 2 hour driving trip or less is what I'm looking to do. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, Casey. I appreciate that great info.!

I guess it looks like Athens or Richland Chambers might be a better bet, unless someone knows pertinent info about those water bodies.

Athens carp are sparse but huge - you might get some shots behind goat island you might not - its hit or miss and 90% of them have this weird tail thing happening. If it where me I would be inclined to check flats at Fork

This is not carp, but it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Night fishing on Cedar Creek. Ccabal and I would put in at Seven Points shortly before sundown, work around the lighted docks, dropping heavy Clousers into the lighted water. If it's on, it is ON.

Again, not carp but still a hoot and a half, possibly three quarters.

Thank you, gentleman. I appreciate all the suggestions, and no, it doesn't have to be carp at the end of my line, so I open to whatever.
